    History of Wildfires in El Dorado County

    In the late summer of 2021, El Dorado County experienced the largest wildfire in the County for the last 30 years, the Caldor Fire. The Caldor Fire burned 347 square miles and lasted for two months. The next largest fire, the King Fire, burned 153 square miles in 2014, half of the area of the Caldor Fire.     Draft Countywide Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Services Municipal Service Review and Sphere of Influence Update

    South Fork Consulting presented the draft before the El Dorado LAFCO Commission on January 26, 2022. Public comment period has been opened for 60+ days. The final report is scheduled for adoption by the Commission on April 27, 2022. Access the two volumes of the report using the links below.
